The definition of a “high-risk” pregnancy is any pregnancy that carries increased health risks for the pregnant person, fetus (unborn baby) or both.
Although irregular cycles or painful monthly cramps can be common issues affecting women, they are by no means something that women must adjust to as their norm.
Gynecologic laparoscopy is an alternative to open surgery. It uses a laparoscope to look inside your pelvic area. Open surgery often requires a large incision.
This is a hormonal disorder which causes enlarged ovaries with small multiple cysts. The cause of polycystic ovary syndrome isn’t well known but it may involve a combination of genetic and environmental factors. Symptoms include menstrual irregularities, excess body hair, acne, Infertility.
Infertility is defined as failure to conceive after 12 months of regular unprotected sexual intercourse. The cause may be due to male factor, female factor or both. Sometimes there is no abnormality in the couple but still patient fails to conceive. Treatment includes hormonal treatment, fertility drugs and sometimes surgery. Several screening tests, including colonoscopy, sigmoidoscopy, and stool tests (high-sensitivity fecal occult blood tests and stool DNA tests) have been shown to reduce the risk of dying from colorectal cancer.
By reducing unintended pregnancies and abortion, and facilitating family planning /spacing of births, effective contraception provides both health and social benefits to mothers and their children.
Menopause is the natural end of a women’s menstrual cycle and fertility. A woman is diagnosed with menopause if the absence of menstruation is for more than one year. The average age of menopause is 48 years in India.
